The purpose of this blog is to compile as much content from across the vast wealth of information and teachings to share with you about using music as a part of your yogic practice.
I have tried to organize the content based on they way the music is used. For this purpose, i’ve included three main categories:
Bhakti Yoga: Kirtan
This is the practice of group singing as devotion. It is generally practiced in a call-response format. Click Here to see all posts related to Kirtan.
Naad Yoga: Music Meditations
Naad Yoga is the Yoga of Sound. This is practiced in a much more scientific way, using specific mantras to create specific vibratory sound currents combined yogic postures or mudras for a specific purpose. I have started a database of mantras meditations here. Click Here to see all of these meditations.
Yoga Music
There is also music that is designed to accompany a yogic practice. In this section, i’ve compiled information about using music with your yoga practice. This might be yoga sets with specific music intended to accompany it, or music that teachers like to use as background while teaching.
